12. Contact Us

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time — for example, as our services, tools, or the law change. We'll update the effective date at the top of this page when we do.

11. Changes to This Policy

Our website and services are directed at business owners and are not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Children's Privacy

Under the Privacy Act 2020, you have the right to ask for access to the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it's wrong. To do either, contact us using the details in Section 12.
If you're not happy with how we've handled your personal information, you can raise it with us directly first. If you're still not satisfied, you have the right to contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner (New Zealand) at privacy.org.nz.

9. Your Rights

We keep personal information for as long as it's needed for the purpose it was collected. For client financial, invoicing, and bookkeeping records, this means a minimum of 7 years, in line with Inland Revenue's record-keeping requirements under the Tax Administration Act 1994. For other personal information, we keep it only as long as it's needed for the purpose it was collected, then delete or de-identify it.

8. How Long We Keep Your Information

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect the personal information we hold, including confidentiality obligations for our team and secure, reputable third-party tools. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information to the best of our ability.

7. How We Keep Your Information Secure

Because our team and the tools we use are based in more than one country (including New Zealand and the Philippines), your information may be stored or processed outside New Zealand. Wherever this happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure your information is protected to a standard consistent with this Policy.

6. Where Your Information Is Stored

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies — including Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager — to understand how visitors use our site and to improve it over time. Cookies may collect information such as your browser type, pages visited, and time spent on the site.

You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings at any time. Disabling cookies may affect how parts of our website function.

5. Cookies & Analytics

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only where it's needed to run our business and deliver your services:
  • Our team: EverySec is delivered by a trained team based in the Philippines, alongside our New Zealand-based leadership. Every team member is bound by confidentiality obligations before they work with any client information.
  • Service providers: trusted tools we use to run our business and deliver your services, including Xero, Mailchimp, Calendly, our website host, and Google (Analytics, Search Console, Tag Manager). Each of these providers processes information under their own privacy and security practices.
  • Legal requirements: if we're required to by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

4. Sharing Your Information

  • To respond to your enquiry and book in a free discovery call.
  • To deliver the services set out in your service agreement — content creation, social media management, digital marketing, admin, and bookkeeping support.
  • To invoice you and process payment.
  • To send you updates, newsletters, or marketing communications — only where you've opted in, and always with the option to unsubscribe at any time.
  • To understand how people use our website, so we can improve it.
  • To meet our legal and accounting obligations.

3. Why We Collect and Use Your Information

  • Directly from you — when you fill in a form, book a call, email us, or provide information as part of onboarding or ongoing work.
  • Automatically — through cookies and analytics tools when you use our website (see Section 5).
  • Through the tools we use to deliver our services — including Calendly (bookings), Mailchimp (email marketing), and Xero (bookkeeping), each of which has its own privacy practices.

2. How We Collect Your Information

From website visitors
  • Contact details you give us through enquiry forms, the free 15-minute call booking form, or our free 10-minute social media health check — such as your name, email, phone number, business name, business goals, and budget.
  • Newsletter and resource sign-ups — your name and email address.
  • Technical and usage information collected automatically when you browse our site — such as your IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and how you arrived at our site (via Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager).

From clients
  • Business, financial, and operational information needed to deliver your package — for example, bookkeeping and financial records (via Xero), email and calendar access, social media account access, brand assets, and business documents.
  • Billing and payment details needed to invoice and process payment for services.
  • Any other information you choose to share with us in the course of working together.

We handle personal information in line with the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. If you're located outside New Zealand, additional local laws may also apply to you, and we aim to meet the higher standard where our practices differ.
